Visit to HMS PRINCE OF WALES (HMS PWLS): Mon 15 Nov 21

Published: 02 Dec 2021

With the kind permission of Captain Steve Higham OBE RN, Commanding Officer HMS PWLS, 30 members of the Association were able to visit the Ship alongside Portsmouth. This is first mass visit to the Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) and has had to be held in abeyance for some while due to COVID. The opportunity was also taken to formally present the Mess silver centrepiece to the CO. The Association was a co-contributor to the silver model of HMS PWLS, made by Mappin & Webb, alongside the trustees of the RN Trophy Fund. After some refreshments in the Wardroom, the group was treated to a tour of the Ship which was enjoyed by all. This centrepiece gift to HMS PWLS follows the presentation of a Mess signing table to HMS QNLZ in 2018.
