General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Published: 24 May 2018

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018.

This new legislation gives individuals greater control over information held on them by organisations, how information is stored and methods used for contact.

Your Association has put together a plan to ensure it is compliant with GDPR.

The data held by the FAAOA is provided directly by members on joining the Association and is held in a basic form for the use of members only.

We take your privacy seriously and will only use personal data for the administration of your membership, the communication of information and the organisation of events.

Our legal basis for processing this data is the legitimate interest as a membership organisation.

Personal data is not passed on for use by third parties whether or not connected to the FAAOA.

We will continue to assess and act on the requirements of GDPR and keep you informed if any further action is required by you.
