Remembrance Parade and FAA Memorial: Sun 14 Nov 21

Published: 02 Dec 2021

Amongst approximately 10,000 marchers this year in London was a full platoon from the Association. 24 members of the platoon including your Chairman in rig ably led once again by the Honorary Secretary. Inevitably there is a lot of standing around but this gave time to catch up with friends and swap many stories before the 2 minute silence at 1100, the Service and then the march past the Cenotaph and the saluting platform behind Horseguards with HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and the President of the RBL. Following the march a fast dash was made over to the FAA Memorial on the Embankment side of the Ministry of Defence for a short service conducted by the Chairman of the Fly Navy Federation with about 200 present. After the rigours of COVID, this parade and service was a poignant event, but very enjoyable, for all participants and friends and family who turned out to watch and encourage.
