British Aerospace Sea Harrier FRS.1, XZ450 became the first Sea Harrier to land on a carrier 13 November 1978 at the start of six days of deck trials on HMS Hermes.
The same aircraft deployed to the Falklands with 800 NAS aboard HMS Hermes and was shot down by Argentine radar-controlled, 35mm Oerlikon AA fire during cluster bomb attack, crashing SE of Goose Green airstrip 4 May 1982 killing the pilot Lt Nick Taylor.
