New Cdr Fixed Wing RNAS Culdrose
RNAS Culdrose welcomed the return of Commander Chris Fellows (right), who now takes command of the Maritime Uncrewed Air Systems and Fixed Wing Force.
He has responsibility for the observer and pilot training naval air squadrons 750 and 727 as well as drone experts 700X Naval Air Squadron.
He is pictured taking over from Commander Matt Deavin (left) who is due to be promoted to captain and take command of the joint RN-RAF F35 Lightning Force based out of RAF Marham.
Commander Fellows trained as an observer at RNAS Culdrose and spent ten years as Sea King Mk7 aircrew. He has also worked at Navy Command in the development of remotely-piloted air systems and served last year as the ops officer on aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth during her deployment to the Far East.
He said: “It is a huge privilege and a great honour to take over this command, taking on the responsibility for a key element of aircrew training and the next generation of cutting-edge technology in the Fleet Air Arm.”
