BFT at 705 NAS

Published: 19 Apr 2024
Congratulations to these five Royal Navy observers who recently passed their basic flying training with 750 Naval Air Squadron.

Next they'll learn their aircraft types - at least three are joining the Wildcat Helicopter Force at RNAS Yeovilton while one will stay at RNAs Culdrose and learn airborne surveillance and control on Merlin Mk2 helicopters (the 5th was not yet decided at the time of their graduation).

Observers are often the mission commanders, navigators and weaponspecialists. They've each spent countless hours in the classroom at 750 NAS, with 40 hours in the simulator and 40 hours in the air above Cornwall, commanding Avenger training aircraft (also pictured). Well done.
