Royal Navy Photographic Competition 2013

The aim of the competition is to contribute to the positive profile of the Royal Navy by engendering high standards of photography. There are amateur categories in the competion. 

The RN Amateur Photographer of the Year Award. Awarded to the best portfolio of 2 Service-related photographs submitted by an individual. Entries may be in either black and white or colour and may be from film or a digital source. Photographs submitted to the competition will not be returned and may be used in public relations and recruiting literature, and in official Defence publications.

The RN Amateur Maritime Image Award. Awarded to an individual for the best Maritime photograph of a ship, submarine or aircraft. Entries may be in either black and white or colour and may be from film or a digital source. In particular the judges will be looking for eye-catching material that reflects imaginative and judicious use of the camera. Photographs submitted to the competition will not be returned and may be used in public relations and recruiting literature, and in official Defence publications. A maximum of three pri nts per person may be submitted.

The RN Amateur Open Category Award. Awarded to the single best photograph of an RN/RM theme that combines technical excellence, creativity and impact. Entries may be in either black and white or colour and may be from film or a digital source. Photographs submitted to the competition will not be returned and may be used in public relations and recruiting literature and in official Defence publications. A maximum of three prints per person may be submitted.
