I’m most grateful for this recognition but share it with all those who believe in me and support me and who continue to make life better for others, in whatever sphere that might be – from charity to sport, from raising awareness or simply being there for someone, every little thing does make a difference.

Lieutenant Commander Sam Truelove

Captain Richard Ingram has been awarded the OBE in recognition of his work with the Royal Omani Navy over a six year period.

He said: “My time in Oman saw delivery of the impressive British BAE built Khareef Class Corvettes to the Omani Navy and extensive growth in operational capability, manpower and training systems.

“It was an immense, unique privilege to work so closely with the wonderful Omani people and I am hugely proud to have led the Royal Navy team throughout an extended and exciting period of development for the Royal Navy of Oman.”

Also awarded the OBE is recently retired Commander British Forces for the British Indian Ocean Territory Diego Garcia, Commander Lee Hardy.

He said: “This award is an extraordinary, and unexpected, honour that recognises not only the work I did but the dedicated and highly professional team in the British Indian Ocean Territory.

“I was assisted by colleagues, across the rank and seniority structure, who gave their best in sometimes trying circumstances but always selflessly and with unfailing good humour.

While Lieutenant Commander Sam Truelove has been awarded the MBE for her work in the area of Diversity and Inclusion and her contribution to women’s sport.

She added: “I’m most grateful for this recognition but share it with all those who believe in me and support me and who continue to make life better for others, in whatever sphere that might be – from charity to sport, from raising awareness or simply being there for someone, every little thing does make a difference.”
