On 22 October 1959, 766NAS, All Weather Fighter Training Squadon was equipped with Sea Vixen FAW1 jets.
The squadron was designated 766B until the remaining Sea Venom finally left on 24 October 1960. FAW 2s began to arrive in July 1965 but the last FAW 1 didn’t depart until May 1968.
766NAS supplied all weather trained Sea Venom pilots to 890NAS, 892NAS, 893NAS and 899NAS.
