New Commanding Officer for RNAS Culdrose

Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose has a new Commanding Officer - Captain Anthony Rimington - a highly experienced helicopter pilot who has served on an array of Operations during his career in the Fleet Air Arm.

He joins the Air Station from a role within the Carrier Enabled Power Projection team, where he has assisted in the delivery of the Royal Navy's two new aircraft carriers, and the F-35B jets and Crowsnest helicopters which will operate from them in the future.

Captain Rimington said: "It is a huge privilege to take Command of RNAS Culdrose - and marks the highlight, to date, of my Naval Career.

"I am looking forward to getting to know the Air Station, its people and the local community as we work together to deliver Maritime aviation in support of the Royal Navy’s aim of protecting the Nation’s interests around the globe."

Captain Dan Stembridge handed over the reins, having spent the last two years in Command of the Cornish Air Station.

He said: "RNAS Culdrose is at the forefront of our Nation’s Defence in protecting the strategic deterrent, counter terrorism and defending our aircraft carriers.

“I am incredibly proud of the team of military and civilian personnel whose dedication and professionalism make it all possible.

“It has been my honour to serve as the Commanding Officer of this fine Air Station."
