LWMF cocktail party 2014

Published: 30 Jun 2014

Beneath the blazing June sun, Brymton D’Evercy House once again proved a wonderful backdrop to the Lynx Wildcat Maritime Force Cocktail Party. Commander Louis Wilson-Chalon, as Commanding Officer LWMF played host by presenting a rousing speech on the success of the Force during the past year and the challenges faced as the force transitions from Lynx to Wildcat.

Fittingly, on completion of his speech Cdr Wilson-Chalon was proud to present a flying display overhead the house, consisting of, for the first time, a Lynx / Wildcat mixed Blackcat pair.

On entry to the house, a fitting reminder of the ongoing transition from Lynx to Wildcat was proudly displayed; Squadron crests for the outgoing 700(W) and 702 Naval Air Squadrons accompanied that of the soon to be commissioned 825 NAS.

With the setting of the sun over the front lawn, party goers enjoyed their picnics with an accompaniment of music from the Royal Marines Association Bband, and Crimson on Silver, a local rock group.

As darkness fell guests were treated to a spectacular fireworks display, before retreating to the orangery for more drinks and a disco.
