HOME AND AWAY AT CHRISTMAS
After an action packed year, with most Squadrons deployed across the globe, personnel from the majority of units at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose will be spending the Christmas period overseas.
Some personnel have arrived back from theMediterraneanjust in time to celebrate the festive period with their friends and family, but others from Squadrons including 820, 829, 849, MASF and 700X, remain abroad serving on operations on Royal Navy ships.
820 Naval Air Squadron in particular has had a very busy year, returning from operations inSierra Leoneand then going out to the Gulf. Several personnel have already celebrated an early Christmas with their friends and family and have now packed up their bags ready to deploy again.
Captain Adrian Orchard OBE, Commanding Officer of Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose said: “The operational tempo remains high throughout the year for RNAS Culdrose and we currently have sailors serving on operations in a variety of locations. Serving away from friends and family at Christmas is hard, but often necessary, and it is really important to us that our deployed personnel know that they are in our thoughts.”
