HMS Kent Conducts Boarding Training

HMS Kent conducted boarding training for the Royal Marine and Royal Navy Boarding Teams. The training also involved the Merlin helicopter loaded with the Royal Marine Sniper Team.

The Maritime Sniper Team, also known as MST, consist of two Royal Marine Commandos deployed from 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines. They play an instrumental role in anti-piracy operations of the Royal Navy, operating from a Royal Navy Merlin helicopter. Three weapons are operated by the team; a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR), an AW50 - a 50 calibre sniper Rifle and an M3M heavy machine gun, all with a different purpose.
