John Blake FRGS FRIN, renowned author of ‘The Sea Chart’ and other books on maritime exploration and FAAOA member, has been commissioned by Bloomsbury (Adlard Coles) for his next book on the history of the exploration of the Arctic and Antarctic from the earliest times to the 1930s.

John is keen to know if any association members have family members or ancestors who have been involved in Polar exploration in the past, or if they know of any others, who might have personal anecdotes or contemporary copies of sea charts or maps made at the time.
