Help Wanted - Wessex Owners’ Workshop Manual

Published: 11 Aug 2016

Help Wanted:

In December 2014 my Sea King HU Mk.5 Owners’ Workshop Manual was published by Haynes, followed this July by the Lynx HAS Mk.2, 3 and HMA Mk.8 Owners’ Workshop Manual (see photo: handing over the first copy to Cdr Phil Richardson, CO of 815 NAS).  Following on from this I appear, against my better judgment (the promise to myself of having a break seemingly disappearing in the post-publication afterglow!) to have agreed to author yet another Manual, this time on a subject dear to many of you: the mighty Wessex.  While this one will differ slightly in covering all Wessex marks (not just RN), the format will remain the same: historical overview, service history, technical walk-round, what it was like to fly and maintain and some good dits.  To that end, I would be keen to hear from anyone with any reminiscences of their time flying and maintaining the aircraft and in particular anyone with any good stories to tell – preferably ones that haven’t appeared in print before.  Even more so, ones that are true!  I can be contacted at [email protected] for more details.

many thanks

Lee
