Capt Dane Handley has very kindly donated this iconic number plate to Navy Wings in order to raise money for the Charity. As many of you will know, the Royal Navy Historic Flight will cease to exist on 31 March next year (2019) and all the aircraft will be transferred to the Civilian Register. Navy Wings is working with the RN on a plan to take ownership of the entire collection, thus ensuring this unique part of our heritage remains within the UK and is used to educate future generations about the rich history of the Royal Naval Air Service and the Fleet Air Arm. Hence, we need to raise our fund-raising game and this very kind gesture will make a real difference to that aim.
This will be an on-line auction with bids sent directly to Cdre Jock Alexander, the Chief Executive of Navy Wings, who will simply update the bid until closing date, which will be on Fri 30 Nov; this would be a great Christmas present!
