A Culdrose sailor is playing a key role in protecting this month’s Olympic Games. Air Engineering Technician [AET] Daniel Newsome, aged 23, will be part of the VIP security team visiting sporting events across the capital.
In his day job, the former Torpoint Community College student is an aircraft technician based at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose near Helston, the arrival location for the Olympic Torch when it reached the UK.
A keen rugby player, AET Newsome says he is “very proud to be involved in the Olympics.”
