GLARAC Plaque Unveiling

The GLARAC Association represents the Family and Friends of HMS Glorious, HMS Ardent and HMS Acasta who all sank in action on 8 June 1940. The Association is dedicated to perpetuating The memory of the 1531 men who were killed in action against The German Battle ships Scharnhorst and Gneisnau.

On Saturday 08 June 2019 commencing at 1600 in the Belvedere Gardens, on The Hoe, Plymouth there will be a short Service of Remembrance and the unveiling of a Bronze Plaque in memory of the loss of HMS GLorious, HMS ARdent & HMS ACasta and the 1531 men who were killed in Action against the German Battleships, Scharnhorst & Gneisnau on June the 8th 1940.

The GLARAC Association would welcome anyone who would wish to attend on this 79th Anniversary.

For anyone attending the Belvedere Gardens on foot you are advised to walk across The Hoe, past the lighthouse, down the steps then turn right at the bottom of the steps. Belvedere Garden is about 100 yards on the right.
