Fly Navy Federation meeting and evening social

Fleet Air Arm Memorial Church, St Bart’s, Yeovilton, BA22 8EX

From the Secretary:

Dear All,

It is now three weeks until the next meeting of the Fly Navy Federation, the first in-person meeting of the Federation for over two years. The previous ‘live’ meeting and social were planned for March 2020, exactly two years ago, and just at the start of the Pandemic. To that end, hopefully not even an alarming new war in Europe will prevent us from getting-together this time.
Fittingly, for what has occurred in the previous two years, and events in Ukraine now, the meeting will be held in the Fleet Air Arm Memorial Church, St Bart’s, Yeovilton, BA22 8EX. It is nearly 10 years since the previous Federation meeting in the Church, held in October 2012. Also it will be a good opportunity for all to see the site of the proposed FAA Memorial Pathway.
The meeting will start promptly at 1500.  Please allow plenty of time to locate the Church and park, if unfamiliar with the location.
Following the meeting there will be an evening social at the Northover Manor Hotel, Ilchester. The social will commence in the Hotel bar at 1900, for a 1930 dinner. Rig: smart casual.
As well as giving a Command Brief at the meeting, RNAS Yeovilton Commanding Officer, Commodore Niall Griffin, will join us for the evening social, accompanied by his wife.
The proposed meeting agenda is attached, please let me know if there are any items I have missed, or which you would like adding.
Also attached is the Northover Manor dinner menu. Please reply with confirmation of whether you will attend, and your menu choices, as soon as possible. Total numbers are required by Friday the 18th of March. Payment will be taken on the night. Please let me know of any dietary requirements, suitable alternatives will be discussed with the galley.
The Hotel is still holding a few rooms at our usual reduced rate, but will need to release them next week. If you wish to stay overnight, please book with the Hotel directly (01935 840447, [email protected]), stating that you are staying as part of the Fly Navy Federation group.
Looking forward to seeing all who are able to attend.
