820 Naval Air Squadron disembark the cruiser HMS Blake for final time. 820 squadron’s Sea King HAS Mk2 helicopters returned to their base at RNAS Culdrose.  820NAS reequipped with Sea King HAS Mk5 in November 1980 and embarked the new carrier HMS Invincible.

HMS Blake was withdrawn from service in 1979. HMS Blake was the last ship in the Royal Navy to fire a six-inch gun. She was sold for scrap on 25 August 1982.
