On this day 26 May 1915

Published: 26 May 2013

On this day 26 May 1915 the prototype of a new class of “Coastal” airships began flight trials. Designed at RNAS Kingsnorth, she was fitted with a duplicated twin-cockpit from an Avro 510 seaplane. This gave a four-cockpit car with a propeller at each end, one a ‘puller’, the other a ‘pusher’
