764 NAS, the last squadron in Fleet Air Arm flying Seafire aircraft disbanded 23 November 1954. Seafire was the naval version of the Spitfire.

764 reformed 18 May 1953 as an advanced Training Squadron at Lossiemouth. It flew Seafires and Fireflies providing Part1 (fighter) training for the Operational Flying School. It moved to Yeovilton 23 September 1953 where it had 13 Seafires, 6 fireflies and 3 Sea Hawks. It disbanded on 23 November 1954 marking the end of naval service for the Seafire.
