‘Bandy’ helps the new Culdrose Choir out

New All-Female Choir at Culdrose

Published: 24 Jul 2012

An exciting new choir has been set up at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose. The all female ‘CuldRoses’ is made up of the wives or partners of personnel (serving or retired) and any females who are either serving or connected to the Helston based Air Station.

The choir are a self sufficient group, but recently the Air Station helped them on their way by providing a practice and recording venue for one of their meetings (the Anglican Church!). The Station Bandmaster also offered his professional services at the rehearsal in getting the ladies to sing different parts and harmonies.

Culdrose Chaplain Reverend James Francis said: “I am delighted that Culdrose could help the new choir to get started and hope that they found the use of my Church useful. Music always brings people together and this is a great opportunity for the wives at Culdrose and the wider community.”
