Falklands 30 - Exhibition at HQS WELLINGTON.

Published: 10 Feb 2012

THE MERCHANT NAVY IN THE FALKLANDS CAMPAIGN

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Falklands campaign, the first exhibition to be organised by the Wellington Trust is to be held on HQS Wellington, on the Victoria Embankment in London, opposite Temple Tube station.

Photographs, documents, books, flags and other memorabilia have been collected for the exhibition from all over the country. These are almost all from the private collections of the men and women who all volunteered to sail on the ships. The vast majority of the exhibits have never previously been seen, hidden away in lofts and cupboards for many years, but unearthed especially for this exhibition.

The ship will be open for the public to visit the exhibition each Sunday and Monday from the 1st April to the 28th May between 1100 and 1700. Organised groups will be able to visit at other times by prior arrangement with the Wellington Trust. The entrance charge is £3 per head, under 16s free.
