Apache helicopters joining HMS Illustrious

Apache Helicopters arrive Apache helicopters from 656 Squadron, Army Air Corps, today joined HMS ILLUSTRIOUS for an intensive period of training. HMS ILLUSTRIOUS was just off the coast of the UK when the three aircraft flew out to join her. The squadron maintainers and other personnel were flown out to the ship in Sea Kings from 848 Naval Air Squadron, also embarked on ILLUSTRIOUS for training. It is not the first time that Lusty has had Apache's embarked, so it is business as usual for her deck crews. The majority of the Army personnel are spending their first time at sea however, so it may take them a few days to find their sea legs!
