Officers 2010 Commander A J Haigh RN Lt Cdr Alastair Haigh joined the RN in 1991 as a Supplementary List Pilot. Since then he has extended his commission to Full Term, and has broad experience in ASW and Lynx fields, as well as some amphibious experience during Op Telic in 2003.
On completion of flying training in 1995, he was appointed to 820 NAS, and subsequently joined 810 NAS as a staff pilot, flying the Sea King Mk 6.
Following a QHI Course, he joined the Defence Helicopter Flying School flying the Squirrel, initially in 660 Sqn AAC, and latterly as Training Officer of 705 NAS.
A non-flying appointment in HMS OCEAN was followed by a Lynx conversion, and a tour as Flight Commander of HMS ARGYLL. After an appointment in Fleet HQ, Portsmouth as Staff Officer to Rear Admiral Fleet Air Arm, he took up his current post of Senior Pilot 702 NAS, the Lynx Training Squadron.
He lives near Yeovilton with his wife and three children. |
