Officers 2010 Lieutenant Commander Mike Draper RN
I joined the RN in 1980 after two years as a Biology teacher in Bristol. Trained as an Observer but got chopped so transferred to the Schoolies. I served a happy two years at HMS Daedalus and I’m still in touch with friends I made there. I got my green beret and served with the RM at Lympstone and 40 Cdo. I also served with the Int Corps and was CO of the RNR unit HMS Ferret on two occasions. I left in 1994 to become a professional stage manager pursuing a passion for theatre begun at university. I live in London and still go to the theatre once or twice a week. My other passions are gardening and the Listener crossword which I solve every week and sometimes even win. |
